The project is designed as an articulating space that seamlessly connects and balances the natural environment with built structures. The primary goal is to promote the contemplation and appreciation of nature. Embracing sustainability, we aim to rescue and repurpose the existing structure of the Hotel. Through strategic interventions—extrusion, addition, and subtraction—we create a protective mantle that cohesively links various elements.

Indoor to Outdoor Transition

The mantle prioritizes the indoor spaces of the hotel, facilitating a smooth transition from intimate areas like bedrooms to public spaces such as the reception, restaurant, and changing rooms. This transition also integrates diverse huts, which are essential components of the project.

Stargazing and Sky Contemplation

In the second phase, the project incorporates specific openings in the cover, creating spaces for stargazing and viewing the northern lights. These openings provide comfortable areas designed for these celestial events, enhancing the overall experience.

Outdoor Space and Huts Integration

A detailed spatial analysis of the environment surrounding the Hotel has been conducted. This analysis defines and maps all open spaces, creating a matrix for building huts. The design prioritizes the preservation of the natural environment, minimizing deforestation and positioning huts in the heart of the forest. This approach ensures a high degree of intimacy and connection with nature.

Organized Community Spaces

The huts are grouped into subgroups, each built around common areas and organized according to the placement of public bonfires. This arrangement fosters a sense of community while maintaining a close connection with the natural surroundings.

By focusing on these principles, our project not only preserves the natural environment but also enhances the guest experience, promoting a deeper appreciation for nature and sustainable living.
