CASA LAS GAVIOTAS

Year: 2022

Where: Valdivia, Chile.

This commission was requested to fulfill a dream, the dream of the desired house. The clients: a young couple who came to us with the request to achieve a single-family home design that adapts to the environment, responds to the requirements and needs of the owners.

The peculiarity of this design is that it would work remotely from Uruguay to Chile, through virtual platforms and educational workshops. At that time, the first thing that was requested was a soil and topography study, which allowed us to give the first guidelines. Then we asked the client for a sequence of photos of the place and the preferred views. To feel like them in that place and better understand the location.

The solution found responds to what was specified in the guidelines required by the clients, differentiating the rest area from the recreational and service area. The house converges at a central point – node – which, at the same time, is the main access and invites the user to choose a path, public or private.

The public area thus stands out for being an open plan, with an accessible system along with large and spacious areas requested for the kitchen, dining room and living room.

On the other hand, the private area responds to an efficient spatial organization in each bedroom and particularly in the main one, which is where the energies are focused to find harmony for the owner in his place of rest and well-being.
